Cookies and storage

We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don’t track you across other sites.

What the site stores in your browser

The site uses your browser’s local storage. It works like a cookie, but stays on your device and isn’t sent to us with every request.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare, which protects the site, may set a strictly necessary security cookie, such as __cf_bm, to tell people from bots. It isn’t used for advertising or to track you.

Why there’s no cookie banner

The UK’s cookie law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, PECR) only requires consent for storage that isn’t strictly necessary to give you what you’ve asked for. We only store what the site needs to work as you asked: your answers and settings, your sign-in, security, and a short-lived copy of public data. None of it tracks you, so we don’t need a consent banner.

Clearing it

Signing out removes your personal data from the browser you’re using. You can also clear this site’s data in your browser settings at any time, but you’ll lose any answers that aren’t saved to an account.
